LOCATIONS WITH A VIEW OF THE EIFFEL TOWER

Updated: Dec 12, 2019

When looking for a location with a view of the Eiffel Tower, the iconic location that immediately comes to mind is the Trocadéro with its bird’s eye view of the Eiffel Tower from the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme. However, not only is it crowded with tourists, it is also subject to a permit and location fees that can be quite steep depending on the type of project you are shooting.

The second most obvious location is the Parc de Champs the Mars which runs from the Ecole Militaire to the Eiffel Tower. The Parc de Champs de Mars is managed by the city’s parks and gardens department and shooting there is subject to a permit and location fees also apply, albeit much more accessible than those for the Trocadéro.

If you wish to shoot a simple piece to camera in exteriors and want a shot of the Eiffel Tower in the background, there are many options for shooting from the street or from bridges over the Seine that offer a prime view of the Eiffel Tower in the background. These locations are covered by a street permit.

Shooting from barges and boats along the Seine should also be considered.

In terms of interiors, there are numerous locations that offer spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower, notably, museums and administrative buildings and rooftops. These locations are prized for private events especially during Fashion Week and are subject to availability. Location fees apply.

Restaurants and hotels offer further possibilities of rooms and terraces with a view of the Eiffel Tower as do private apartments.
